Robots.txt Editor & Syntax Check
Edit pasted robots rules and inspect basic local syntax warnings.
After this page loads, calculations work offline. Inputs are not uploaded or saved. Copy and download happen only when you choose them.
Your output.
Example loaded. Edit an input to update the result.
What this can and cannot tell you.
No URL is fetched, no rules are applied and crawler behavior is not simulated. Robots.txt does not protect private information or guarantee removal from search.
How it works.
Check directive formatting, user-agent presence, slash-prefixed paths and absolute sitemap URLs. Unknown directives receive warnings. Rule precedence, matching, HTTP status, live access and crawler-specific support are outside this tool.
Review the existing host file before replacing it. A syntactically valid rule can still block the wrong pages. Read the release and migration checklist for the next check.
Try the example.
The example loads automatically. Edit an input to update the result, or choose Load example to start again. Invalid inputs show an explanation and cannot be exported as a successful result. Copy includes the readable result; download provides the output file.
Review Google’s robots.txt specification for crawler-specific behavior.
Turn the output into a useful decision.
A local tool does not replace context, review or implementation.
